Your account

How to manage your account: the tabs, profile, changing your email and password, two-factor authentication (2FA) and password reset.

Your account at host.appalbania.com/account is where you manage your personal details, your plan and sign-in security. This chapter explains each tab and the profile actions.

Account tabs

After you sign in at host.appalbania.com/login, you see five tabs:

In the top right are the red Open hosting panel button and Sign out. Switch language with the SQ/EN switch in the header.

Opening the hosting panel

Your account is also the key to the hosting panel. The Open hosting panel button signs you into the panel with one click, with no second password. That means anyone with access to your account also has access to your site. Keep your password strong and turn on 2FA, as explained below. For more about the panel, see Getting started.

Tips for a strong password

  • Use at least 10 characters; longer is better.
  • Do not reuse a password you use on other sites.
  • Use a password manager to create and store it.
  • Never send your password by email or message, not even to the support team.

Personal details

Under Profile you can change your name, phone number and email language, meaning the language of the email notifications you receive.

  1. Open the Profile tab.
  2. Change your name, phone or email language.
  3. Save your changes.

Change your email

Your email only changes after you prove the new address belongs to you.

  1. Under Profile, enter the new email address.
  2. Check the inbox of the new address: you will receive a 6-digit code.
  3. Enter the code in your account to confirm the change.

The code is valid for 15 minutes. If it expires, request a new one.

Change your password

  1. Under Profile, open the password section.
  2. Enter a new password of at least 10 characters.
  3. Save the change.

After the change, all other devices where you were signed in are signed out automatically. This is useful if you suspect someone else knows your password.

Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) means that, besides your password, you also need a temporary code from your phone to sign in. Even if someone learns your password, they cannot get in without your phone. This matters because your account opens the hosting panel with one click.

  1. Install an authenticator app on your phone: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Authy.
  2. Under Profile, start the two-factor authentication setup.
  3. Scan the QR code shown with the app.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code the app shows to confirm.
  5. Save the recovery codes that are displayed.

Recovery codes are shown only once and each code works only once. Store them somewhere safe outside your phone (for example in a password manager). You use them to sign in if you lose your phone.

Forgot your password?

  1. Go to host.appalbania.com/login and click the forgot password link.
  2. Enter your account email.
  3. Open the link you receive by email and set a new password.

The link is valid for 30 minutes. If the email does not arrive, check your Spam folder too.

Signing out

On a shared computer, always click Sign out when you are done.
